Overview
A gypsum runway complex in the New Mexico desert used for Space Shuttle pilot training in modified Gulfstream jets and as a backup landing site. Columbia landed there at the end of STS-3 in March 1982 when the usual California runway was flooded, the only shuttle landing in New Mexico.
