Overview
Built as a Thor missile pad in the late 1950s, SLC-2 became the West Coast home of the Delta rocket family, launching weather, Earth science, and Iridium communications satellites into polar orbit. The final Delta II flew from SLC-2W in September 2018 carrying the ICESat-2 laser altimetry satellite.
