Overview
The 4.6 kilometer runway at Kennedy Space Center built for returning Space Shuttles, which first landed there in 1984 and made the final landing of the program in 2011. Space Florida now operates the former Shuttle Landing Facility for horizontal launch companies and aircraft tests, and the X-37B spaceplane has landed there.
