Overview
Explorer 1, the first American satellite, rose from Pad 26A on a Juno I rocket on 31 January 1958, answering Sputnik. The complex also served Redstone and Jupiter missile tests and early space launches. Its blockhouse now houses the Air Force Space and Missile Museum.
