Overview
The Atlas pad where John Glenn rode Friendship 7 into orbit in February 1962, followed by the other crewed Mercury Atlas flights. It later launched Atlas Agena target vehicles for the Gemini program. A monument to the Mercury Seven astronauts stands at the site beside the old blockhouse.
