Overview
The Soyuz launch site near Sinnamary let Arianespace fly Russian Soyuz rockets from French Guiana, gaining payload from the low latitude. The first launch in October 2011 carried two Galileo navigation satellites. Russia withdrew its launch teams in 2022 after the invasion of Ukraine, ending Soyuz flights from the site.
