Overview
The largest test stand at the Peenemunde rocket center, from which the A4 rocket, later the V-2 weapon, made its first successful flight on 3 October 1942, reaching an altitude of about 85 kilometers. The stand was a centerpiece of a wartime rocket program built largely on forced labor.
